| Looneybins 66 Mega Chevy
Can y'all tell i like this body. Picked up a RGT racing truck out the classifieds cheap so i figure it will do as a new Mega. Would have never went with one but it had a pretty much new set of AR60s under it and how can you really mess up a aluminum tvp chassis. At any rate it will be low and mean on some 2.2s. Body will be cut to suit and it will have a wild paint job. May do some tube work on this one.

That would look good with some jconcepts 2.6 wheels and renegades tires.

Its crossed my mind. If i did that i would just get a smt chassis though. This one doesnt have enough drop in the center section to go that high

Well your links look darn near parallel to the ground in that first pic, that's ideal. You'd have to raise that body up tho. you'd have a low CG compared to the smt chassis

Made some new stainless links. Little shorter wheelbase but with same links top and bottom for better geometry. Moved the the chassis plates around. Looks like a tube upper frame will be in the works to tie it all in. Got to draw some stuff out.

Feels good to be bending some tube again. Trying to get this cab done tonight. Only picked up one stick of tubing today.

I have tried several hand tubing benders some cheap some expensive but i think i have found my favorite setup. Rigid ball bearing tubing cutter, and imperial hand bender. This thing bends a tight a radius as i have ever seen on 1/4" tubing.

Getting there. Got to get the shock mounts sorted out and all the body mounts on including the tube for the bedsides. Tried to make the cab portion resemble a 60s chevy cab.

Nope your normal 1/16 Lincoln flux coated brazing rods and MAP gas torch from Lowes. Super easy to use and cheap. Never broke a weld. Once i clean the chassis up with a wire wheel you will see how smooth the welds come out.

1/8" rods work too but i like the 1/16" way better because you have better control of the flow and it doesnt take as long to melt.

Got the cage finnished minus the rear bed side mounts. Front shocks will be moving once i get some panels on it. Will have a floor, firewall, and engine bay sides. Rear will get a fuel cell. Gonna run sway bars front and rear. It will have a big block chevy that will be bolted to the firewall. Still up in the are on paint. Got to get some shocks, a body, and some rims.

Got some styrene in for the floor and firewall. Got to make a mount for the blower motor and finish paint on it though. Got plenty of room on the interior for seats and a center console and dash. Thinking of colors at this point. Still not sure if i want to do the chassis red or highlighter green. Body will be black or gunmetal with graphics.
