| Scale/crawler GTG Farmington Hills
I am trying to get a decent group together to hit some trails at a park in Farmington Hills. Friday June 20th Heritage Park Off of Farmington Rd just south of 11 Mile. If anyone is interested let me know. I am heading out there today to check out the trails, mosquito situation, and just what kinds of rules this park has. Park has great reviews, i see there are a couple rivers/streams running through it. I will post more info after i check it out today. Lets see if we can get a head count going... i cant do next weekend, i am going to Gr. Rapids... I figured the 20th would have been a better notice than this weekend. See what ya can do. I am assuming everyone else is working too, so if you can make it on the 20th, what time do you think you can be there? Try to figure out a decent time to start, maybe we can time it so when we are wrapping it up, it will start getting dark. I got a couple buddies from down in Monroe who may be able to make it as well... |

I'm down for whatever, Friday is my day off. But just for the future, Saturdays and Sundays are usually better for everyone else |

Normally i would have said saturday, i Just got stuff going on that day. We will see how this goes, what kind of turn out we get and maybe we can set up another trail run (same park/different park) in July. Or even if enough epole express enough interest in doing a run in July. I am going to the park today to make sure that there will not be any issues with the "rangers" and to check out trails. If anyone wants to meet me, PM me and i will Send ya my cell.

Honcho, will have to see if I can make it for the night ride. Walked about 5 miles in trails today. I would say that about 99% of the trails are very well kept. Not Mich action for us. BUT there are some cool paths not recognized by the park with some cool terrain. On the sides of the trails there is lots of woods and obstacles as well. There is a fast paced river with a few little streams feeding into it that are cool. I think if we get a group together it could be really cool. I was hoping to he able tobe out there for a bit after dark, but the park closes at dusk. Anyone coming out iI highly recommend long pants and shoes unless you are not allergic to poison ivy. And some deet / bug spray would be a good item to bring as well. How does meeting there at 6-615 sound? I will be at the parking lot in front of the nature center |

starts off with some pavement and nicely groomed trails throughout the park. Fortunently for us, the woods righ off the side of the trail have some cool trail blazing potential. few streams and some rutted hills. I think it could be a cool place to cruise. Never been to a comp before or trail event before. Hope we can get a good groupl together.

Does anyone have a set of 2.2's laying around that i could try out? I have been thinking about switching but have a hard time justifying spending any money on something that i may not even like. Thanks. -Tim |

Who's comin out? should be a nice sloppy day for it! Just a FYI you cannot go north on farmington Rd. it is down to one lane, SOUTH ONLY. if you are coming from 696, take orchard lake to 11 mile, then you can make a left onto Farmington Rd and the park is about a half mile down on your right. when you pull in, take the first street to the left then the parking lot will be on the right. I will check my PM's again before 6, if you have any questions PM me your number and i will give you a call.
