Default Orlandoo P01 and A01 tips, mods, advice and ideas

So I just finished assembling the jeep, (what a cool kit). Anyway there were a couple sticking points that I needed direction on, well, I thought it might be cool to start a thread with ideas and such for people just getting started.
So, if you have an idea post pics with brief description for others to use.
I'll start off with my wheel mod.

Here's my wheel mod.
First off I started with losi micro desert truck wheels and a 1/2" spade bit.

You can cut by hand, but it it's easier with a hand drill. Use light pressure.

A bit of trimming and sanding and

Next choose your center, (any of the Orlandoo wheels).

They should fit nearly flush in the back.

I used hot glue gun to hold them together, I'll probably "goop" or epoxy them later, or not.
And there's your new look. Excuse the lame build I hate painting.

Up next is wiring on the A01 jeep. It took a few tries.
ESC, motor and servo are typical recommended from HobbyKing website. The battery is a rewired (bought wrong plug) eflite 120mah 2s.

Here's my advice for painting, don't, leave it white. This was way too much of a pain.
Unless you're a teenager buy a pair of head magnifiers, it is hard to see those little parts.

So this is advice but more looking for advice.
I assumed (apparently incorrectly) that the Chinese translation for "seem glue" meant model glue. Well after a run all the little bits I glued on, started falling off, and showed no normal signs of melt, like styrene.

So, what do you all use for glue on these little dudes?

CA glue. It's basically superglue, and can be found at your local hobby store.

Here is one for ya. Level the truck up! I cant help but notice all Jeeps are pointing nose up. It looks like sagging rear springs. What I have done was drilling new holes for upper shock mounts.

And now it looks like this:

Also for all of you struggling to fit stock wheels on due to tightness these aluminum replacements from RCMart fit snug.

Here's a quick way to temporarily(permanently) mount modified losi DT wheels.

O-ring and OH wheel

Place in groove on back side

Press in

Done.
The O-Ring holds it centered and gives enough friction to keep it from slipping.

So, with the O-ring I can fit the DT tires on the OH rims?

The only tires I can find are premounted to black chrome DT rims, will this option work like the set in the OPs rig with the drill bit?

Yes, I should have clarified you need to do the first part of this post and drill out the DT wheels.

I like the look of the Micro DT wheels. Will the stock wheels fit into the DT wheels without having to cut out the face of the DT wheels?

Hello, I was interested to do the Losi micro dt wheel mod but it's impossible to find them, they're out of stock EVERYWHERE and I think they don't produce them anymore . Do you know of any other similar wheels I could use for the orlandoo jeep? Thanks a lot for your help!

Ok, thanks for the answer, didn't know that the turning radius was reduced. Will look into the mod to lift it a bit more and get extra ground clearance, is there any way to make the wheel base a bit wider?

Thanks again!
