| Ordered the Orlandoo F150 today
I ordered my first micro today, the Orlandoo F150. Is there anything I should know before it shows up and I get started on it? Lessons learned, tips, tricks etc?

Did you get a motor, ESC, and servo? I used a cheap 10a ESC and one of the smallest, non low voltage servos I could find. Removed the case from a Rx and tucked it all in the cab. |

I bought the full kit so its supposed to have everything but the receiver. I was wondering how I might cram a receiver in the cab, removing the cover is genius, thanks!

Hi, gear pusher helped me a lot during assembly. I have two and used both: https://hobbyking.com/de_de/bearing-puller-tool.html And a small one like this (but with smaller diameters - can't find it right now on HK): https://hobbyking.com/de_de/internal...r-12-14mm.html Furthermore: Do NOT use the 1.4 mm drill delivered with the set. I used 1.2 mm - but probably 1.1 would even have been better. Use CA or Epoxy, put a little bit into the holes befor screwing the linkage-balls in. Walter |

I got the chassis put together today. Holy crap did I underestimate how challenging this would be. I stripped a couple of the ball head studs and glued them, hopefully they'll hold. I definitely need a dedicated .9mm driver. These little things could get addictive for sure.

Amazon sells a couple nice sets... I stripped a couple in my kit with the supplied wrench, ended up ordering new plastic, and a good set of micro drivers, shoulda done that the first time. They will work loose. | |

I got it wrapped up today. The paint didn't go so great but I can live with it, I'll do better on the next one. The only other issue I had was installing the four inbound ball studs that the upper links connect to on the chassis. Not sure how I'll try to do those differently next time but they're a pain. Here's a short video I put together today. My hunting partner Greg drives a lifted, blacked out F150 and he was impressed with the scale version I did of my Ram. The sole reason I went this route was to put this video together to screw with him but I'm glad I did it and I'm hooked on the micros now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5QXs3ZFrho |

Used two sets of Losi Micro DT shocks and used the two shorter shocks from each set to lift it up a bit. I couldn't get them to rotate freely on the ball heads so I removed the ball heads, opened up the threaded holes and installed the shocks using M1.5 screws instead. The shocks needed spaced out a bit wider on the axles so I cut and used the rod ends from the original shocks as spacers. They run much smoother than the original shocks and I didn't screw them down tight so they allow for good articulation as well. I also drilled out a set of Mini DT wheels and glued a set of the 10 spoke wheels inside them to try to replicate the XD wheels on my buddy's F150. I've got a 2.2g servo on the way, not sure how I'm going to install it yet. |
