Did not know that. I don't golf either nor know people that do. Just need the circumference of the inner barrel and you can cut it on the bench before sticking it on. Nice find.

No problem. It's funny they measure the tape in grams per inch. Most tapes are 1g per inch but I've found a couple that are 2g per inch. I would have never thought golf would cross to RC. Lol.

Lead tape is easier, but it is also less dense.

A little update to my Mini Z. I was wondering if I had a 24th scale in one of my body boxes and found this little guy.
I wanted to try a lighter body on my Z to reduce COG.

So I started carving on it to get a little clearance. First I removed material on the hood/front fenders to get it to ride lower.

Next was the tailgate under the spare to clear the ESC/RX and the grill to clear the servo.

It's starting to look better all the time, but still not low enough. So I did a little carving on the under part of the bed for the rear shocks.

This is how the Z is sitting with the 1/8" spacers in the shocks.

Jump forward a couple days, here's the truck with a fresh coat of candy root beer/ silver, black and a couple decals.

This is in my Micro crawling course I built a few years ago. All the rocks in the back of the track I built with chicken wire plastic bottles and mortar.

Crawles better than my old Losi Trekker

Sorry, I don't do video.

A step back pic of the whole course.

a poser in front of the pond course for my 1/10 scale.

And final weight comparison of the two bodies.

Over an ounce, at this scale that is a big difference, and the weight is a little lower besides.
Thanks for looking
Ernie

Wow. Awesome transformation! That is a ton of weight to lose up top as well good job. Also love the backyard crawling area.

Without looking through all the Mini Z threads, what do the axle stubs look like? Is it possible to make a new one that would accept an axle pin and 7mm hex?

That’s a start. They do poke the tires completely out from under the body.

If you want them more flush you could just shave them down a bit on the 7m hex side

I ordered a set of those, will see how they work out. Eventually I may see if I can mod the axles to take a hex wheel.

I Know there is a thread somewhere on switching out the hubs and stubs to utilize the hex. I just don't remember where I saw it.

Hi Ernie, did this mini-z bind to your Flysky Noble nb-4 radio?

Hey Paul, I didn't even try? Have you read something that lead led you to believe it should? That would be cool if it did!

Yes, it says it supports Kyosho MiniZ EVO, I'm not sure if EVO applies to this truck, but there is a miniZ setting in the radio under radio frequency setup.

Jeep body looks great plus lost weight up high, nice. Crawler course looks great.

That doesn't look too bad at all, even from a scale perspective. It's almost exactly what an older 4Runner would look after adding a lift and bigger tires.

I made some wheel spacers and posted them for you to download and print, but you will need and SLA printer.
