It's funny because I find an upgrade part that I want and think "okay, $10 is pretty cheap" then place the order. But then when I get it in my hands, I think "oh my god... $10 for THAT little thing?!"

Seriously though, these things are a lot of fun to modify and work on. It's crazy how little time it takes to replace or pull something apart... matter of minutes in most cases. And they take up hardly any space to work on.

One of the main differences that I've found compared to 1/10 scale crawling is how you can make so many different types of courses out of all kinds of materials... indoor and outdoor.

Those are mostly my thoughts too. I usually don't have time to do club stuff, so the 1/10 is overkill around the house unless I want to build some stuff. I am a very casual crawler, so a 1/24 more fits my style.

I looked at my AX24 , trying to figure out how I can get it to do more than a 55 degree slope . I don’t think there is much more I can do to the thing .

Took the AX24 out for a crawl on a rip rap hillside . Just when I thought there was no more I can do to it , I am now thinking portal axles .

I had no idea the TRX4M wheels/tyres weren't glued...

I am loving being able to just swap tyres on the SCX24 (Cheat Code v2 from Mazz Designs) for comparison without going through beadlock hell over and over. Especially some of the older stuff from RC4WD.

Of course, you lose a lot of weight running these but it's apples to apples so it's no big deal. Think I might buy another couple of sets if I can find them.

Pulled the new JLU out of the box . This build is going to be a surprise for the wife (I hope ) . I have a hour and half before she gets home . I charged the battery , pulled the body and wheels off . Changed the diff covers , aluminum in the rear , heavy brass in the front . Greased the diffs up good . Swapped out the servo and mount . Some more parts should be arriving tomorrow .

More parts arrived today , I installed high clearance links , double barrel shocks , vented the wheels and mounted the tires . Cooked dinner too . Unfortunately I was supposed to be looking for a place to stay when we go on vacation.

I bought these bodies for $5 apiece in black, red, yellow and silver? at a local b&m:

...and will be attempting to make them fit without changing links; the wheelbase is a bit short, bit I think it may be doable. The lights seem easy to install leds into and the plastic seems durable enough.

Repaired a blown shock as a result of driving like a lunatic on the rocks part of the testing process though I am liking the 39mm Injora shocks on this rig

Notched the interior of the Bronco so I could refit and still use the 900mAh battery. Also put the roof rack back on, minus the accessories.
