Default Mini-Z 4x4 Jimny overland build

I think I've finally "finished" working on my Mini-Z Jimny so I thought I'd share its progression.

I'm trying to keep it relatively scale looking so the tires were the hardest thing to find a suitable upgrade for, because the stock ones are so small (37mm OD x 12mm width). I settled on some GK24 tires (39mm x 15mm) and ordered a spare set of 4runner wheels and removed the tires. The GK24's are tight but they fit with some careful fiddling.

Next step was adding weight down low to balance the roof rack/accessories that were coming.

Also couldn't find any replacement bumpers I liked so I whittled the OEM one and glued/mcguyvered the Xtraspeed SCX24 Stinger bumper underneath.

I started off using Sleekun's offset spacers but found I couldn't get them to fit perfectly so I swapped for MPower's aluminum version (which are awesome).

Next up was the roof rack, snorkel, ladder, light kit, and scale accessories. The ladder is the RC4WD D90 one which needed a slight bend to fit the back of the jimny.

Finally here's a short video I made of its first run on my backyard/garden crawling course:

Looks great!

If Kyosho wants to make proprietary wheel hubs so you cant use aftermarket wheels, why dont they produce a variety of there own wheels? Thats chicken-poo if you ask me....

Yeah I’m hoping that with their recent popularity we’ll see some more after-market support. You can get adapters to use normal 7mm hex wheels it just doesn’t help the Jimny because the smallest 1.0” tires (rok lox/creeper/crusher) are all 48mm OD which would require a huge (and not really scale) lift to fit. At least for the 4runner/Jeep models they already have 48mm stock tires.
