| 1/24 trail finder 2 stepside Chevy build
Merry Christmas everyone! So I haven't seen any builds yet on the 1/24 TF2, so I figured I'd throw money away and get one lol out of the box it totally sucked just like I thought. The servo only turned to the right and I fried the motor within a few minutes. I swapped it out with the n30 that came with it, and swapped the servo for an scx24 servo and it was much better. But I still needed more. I moved the front shock towers back on the next holes, shaved the tabs on the rear axle so I could clock the shock mounts to lean inward, stretched it to the longest wheelbase but the driveline was too short so I modified it. And I took the foams out of the tires and glued the wheels and tires because it was easier than dealing with the tiny hardware. To top it all off, I built a 1/24 Chevy stepside model to fit and the dimensions are perfect. Center of gravity is actually pretty good, and it crawls awesome for being so much smaller than an scx24. It could still use a better motor/ESC and some longer shocks for better flex, so I'll be trying a few things out Overall I'm stoked with it though |

Looks good man. I’ve been thinking about one too. The scale is much better for 1/24 bodies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Appreciate you documenting your build/fixes. I'm sitting here with a recently delivered TF2 and it's driving me nuts it's so bad out of the box. I'll try some of these mods.

Hey man, cool build so far. Love the body choice! I got a question for you though. I'm looking for a set of narrower axles to throw under an scx24 build I'm working on, and I suspect the TF24 axles might fit the bill, but I can't find dimensions listed anywhere. Could you do me a huge solid and tell me what the width from bearing to bearing is on both axles? I promise I will reward you greatly in the next life!

Cool to see an old (tiny) square body on this this one. Keep up the good work man!!! I definitely like the scale size too. |
