Some photos of the truck when I received it about 7 years ago. This was NOT a normal kit, as I had to figure out all the electronics and body mounting on my own. And obviously there was no aftermarket support for a custom truck like this.

I broke one of the universal joints back in 2015, so it sat on a shelf for years. I tried to fix the joint in early 2021 and it seemed to be holding. I was also able to redesign the electronics and layout. But, then the UV joint broke again. I almost gave up. Then, I decided to try to fit the Axial SCX24 tranny and axles. They worked!

And here is where it stands today... I'm waiting for the paint to arrive. It will either be Tamiya dull red, maybe a burnt orange, or possibly flat black with some gloss trim.

Next project on the list... I took an SCX24 and turned it into a rock bouncer as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhT2SSAbx_0

But, since then, I've decided to change it into a MicroShark by Mod19. So, I'll be posting a quick build/video thread for the rock bouncer. Then I'll post the conversion from the rock bouncer into the MicroShark.

Lol those ****ing tires from Sam looked amazing but were awful on the rocks. I’ll never forget them.

Yeah, they were all looks, no performance. I’ve actually been very happy with the Axial trail grappler tires on this truck. I have them sealed air tight with 40 grams of BBs in each tire. They look great on the rocks.

It takes two screws on the bottom to remove the body. I wanted to hide a screwdriver somewhere on the truck so I mocked up a awning.

Been following along recently and it really came out nice. I'm not a big graphics guy these days but I love the tan paint and I've enjoyed watching this rig finally come together. It's crazy how frustrating these little rigs can be and so so unforgiving regarding mistakes. But very rewarding when things eventually work out... no matter how much head-scratching is involved lol. I've had to step away from my scx24 project quite a few times just to keep my sanity in tact but overall I sincerely enjoy the challenges... especially when something works lol! Thanks for updating this thread and I look fwd to watching some of the videos you've posted as well.
