Default RocHobby Magnum - 1/18 Ford F1 Pickup

Hey, it looks like another 1/18 model from the most prolific RC crawler manufacturer ever.

A first generation Ford F series (1948-1952) that appears to be sitting on the 1/18 K10 wheels, tires and chassis. Nothing official yet, just pre-release teaser photos.
EDIT: It is now known as the RocHobby Magnum although that might be subject to change.

I really like old pickup trucks. I even like the color.

Just when you think FMS can't step up their game they seem to do it again.

I think Donaldsneffe compiled this list of trail trucks, crawlers, super scale replicas that FMS/RocHobby/EAZYRC/Eachine
has churned out in rapid fire. Eachine is a brand you don't see much anymore.

In order of appearance:

RocHobby 1941 MB Scaler 1/6
FMS Atlas 6x6 1/18
RocHobby Katana 1/18
EazyRC Patrion renamed Patriot 1/18
FMS Suzuki Jimny 1/6
EazyRC Arizona 1/18
FMS Toyota Land Cruiser 80 1/18
RocHobby Fire Horse 1/18
FMS Toyota FJ Cruiser 1/18
EazyRC Triton 1/18
FMS Suzuki Jimny 1/12
FMS Willys MB Jeep 1/12
FMS Chevrolet K10 1/18
EazyRC Glacier 1/18
FMS Toyota Hilux 1983 1/18
RocHobby Kubelwagen 1/12
FMS Kommandeurwagen Beetle 1/12
FMS Mogrich Unimog 1/18
EazyRC Bronx (Bronco) 1/18
RocHobby Cheyenne 6x6 1/18
FMS FCX24 Power Wagon "1/24"
RocHobby Magnum 1/18
FMS Chevy Apache 6x6 1/18

A few of these are significantly different from each other with
lots of details added or omitted. The 1/12 series in particular is not rife with
multiple clone vehicles. The Jimny, Willys MB, Kubelwagen and "War Beetle" are different.

I'm pretty sure the EazyRC patriot came well before the RocHobby Katana..
From what I recall the EazyRC patriot was out, then the katana V1, then eventually the V2/FMS LC80, then the Arizona.

Hey thanks for dropping that tidbit of info. So yes indeed, there were 4x4 Ford F1s.
It means there's a realistic basis for having this 1/18 in 4x4 instead of just a custom one-off.

I assume there were F2 and F3 conversions although I can't tell the F1, F2 and F3 apart.

Now I need some steelies, dog dish hubcaps and some old style STA Super Traxion tires.

No problem and they are most definitely out there.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rington-3.html

There will be lots of cool builds on this one.
4x4 F3 Dually Flatbed.

A few years back, I almost snagged a ‘59 F350 Dually Flatbed with a M-H conversion, but I missed it by a few hours when it was sold out from under me.

Missing out on that truck, may have saved my marriage…

Raise the body up just a little and slap on a set of FCX24 wheels and tires, I think it would have a pretty unique look.

Or some SSD Slot Mags

I got lost on that Ford forum--good stuff.

Back to topic. This truck is not listed on the FMSmodel site, nor 'sneak previewed' on their official Facebook page, nor even one of their official outlets (some kind of corporate relationship) like FairRC. Only seems to be for sale on foreign sites, England, Australia, etc.

It is called the RocHobby Magnum 1/18 RTR.

The wheelbase is spot on for the K10 and Hilux.
Slightly off topic, has anyone seen the 1/10 YJ they are doing? It looks fantastic! I really hope they bring the YJ into the 1/18 scale, but in true to scale size not oversized like that Hilux that's closer to 1/16. I'd expect a more true 1/18 YJ would put it about the FCX24 wheelbase

Oh, I've got plans for this one as soon as I get my hands on it. Vintage 4x4 wrecker with some weathering (need to practice that actually.....) would go nice with the rest of my fleet.

HEY, I've seen that YJ. Looks amazing.

I bet the F1 Magnum might end up larger than 1:18. . . .

I'm sure it will be like the K10 which is still larger than 1/18, but not as bad as the Hilux being 1/16 and using the same chassis as this f-100 and K10. I still say it would be awesome if they would release this as a true 1/18. With the same 1/18 parts. That would make it about FCX24 wheelbase. though I'm sure many will like to have the two-speed transmission and portals of the 1/24.

According to my measurements, and if this 1/18 model represents a standard 6.5 foot bed and a 114 inch wheelbase, I get a scale of 1/14.7735

or 1:15 scale. Pretty big.
