Some body moods. Trade off glass (24g) for gulwing door and an extra fuel can(4.5g). Performance gain is immense. DJcrawler tire and rims. Rims are the range rover wolf replica, heavy(40g). Tires are dgcrawlers too, soft like s3 injoras. They got vertical strength ribs on the inside. Haven't seen any other tire with such feature. Definitely helps with the lateral support. Edit: use of these heavy wheels and tires will require an upgraded servo. . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk Last edited by Ynad; 12-10-2022 at 04:12 PM. |

Nice it looks almost real in the pictures. The wheels and tires are a good combination.

Thank you. The wheels are a lucky find. They are exactly what should be on a defender, stock steelies. It is an original heavy duty rims for a defender, the wolf. Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

You got a link for the tires and wheels? Tried a search and came up blank. The only link that came up was for FB

You are welcome. These heavy wheels will burn out stock servo. Get a servo upgrade along. I didn't think they would be that heavy(40.5g). This is the heaviest set outta all aluminum wheels I got. Now to the moods. When deep water wading, tires deep. Electronics are above water BUT the battery is taking a swim. Quick solution for me, a lightweight plastic box outta packaging material to house the battery. Velcro replaces the rubber band. Added a little shelf to the box atop of the transmission and double sided tape attached the electronics unit(18g). Moving it 15mm up and 45mm forward. Yet to see it perform on the trails but on the first test it didn't seem too heavy uptop. Also replaced springs for the hardest and moved shock towers forward changing the rate for softer. Making it just a little firmer. So as it stands now. About 40 grams were removed from the rear. Bearings, metal diff gears, steel wheel hubs and heavy wheels and tires. ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk Last edited by Ynad; 12-10-2022 at 04:45 PM. |

Few more moods. Cut bumpers. Front steering link pulled up for mroe clearance. Added bonus after a servo swap for an upgrade. Attempt to limit torque twist. Works, does take some out. Changed rear shock sleeves for the aluminum. Fully oil filled plastic shock popped the bottom part on full compression. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

Update on the moods. The bumpers trim is the best mod so far. The rear bumper just slides off the rock if ever gets there and doesn't get hung up. Front definitely helps with the clearance on tight turns. The battery box is useless :-) Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

Simple lift mod. No holes drilled in the process. Some spare servo horns. Fully adjustable height. Also my personal belief is that it's better to lift from the bottom to keep CG lower. 5mm lift is enough to clear the fenders tire rub. Rear is extended forward a bit too. Seems like it might be helping with the torque twist. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk Last edited by Ynad; 01-17-2023 at 02:25 PM. |

Very easy winch addition. The only complication running line past the front clip. I trimmed some plastic to make room for the line. Wpl winch, some cheap remote winch controller. Controller comes in a larger plastic box, removed it is tiny. However cool and nice it is not a powerful winch. Works as an addition to the wheel spin. But very satisfying action though. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

Thank you for your comments. Winch made outta 12g servo is a lot stronger but this one feels more realistic in use. If you'd like faster spooling and stronger option go with the servo winch. ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

Update on the looks and function. Couldn't wait for the aftermarket metal front bumper. SCX24 one works good. Smaller, shorter, closer to the body. To mount need some fab/mod to the existing bumper. Shackles mounted straight to the chassis. Also in the process finally gotten rid off of the fake winch. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

One more mod on the rear bumper. The hitch mount for the trailer. Got one trailer, two trucks, the existing hitch and mount are not really usable. Here is my solution. Removable hitch suitable for both trucks and can be used for any other in the future. Also it's not a hinderence on the rocks. Actually now only the spare tire cover gets to slide on the rocks, bumper clears for most of times. Pivot was modded to swing 90 degrees so wouldn't come off on the trail. Security chain already proven to be useful. BTW, mudflaps unfortunately are useless. Moved them way back to the rear bumper and still they will get caught on anything and between the tire. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk Last edited by Ynad; 02-12-2023 at 05:02 PM. |
