Default 1/24 Crawler choices?

So I'm thinking of getting a 1/24 crawler. Of all my choices I'm looking for best bang for my buck! 3 criteria I'm looking at:
1- price
2- strength
3- replacement part availability

What's you guys top choice/ choices?

Any of the Scx24 lineup will do fine. With many of the prices similar between models, and don’t bind the wheels up an any of them, they all do what you want. The scx24 have the replacement parts availability for sure (stock and aftermarket).

Fcx’s have the bodies that look good and good components too.
If I’m not mistaken the enduro24’s share parts across the other CR model lines.

yup. that. lol i like my SCX24, tons of fun and good parts availability.. i do not have experience with any other mini-crawler though, but i don't think you can go wrong with the Axial

Yeah, SCX24 is a really good choice - they are pretty sturdy and there's a tonne of aftermarket parts available if that's your thing.

The only alternative that I know of and have tried is the Carisma MSA-1E which is cheaper, but pretty capable (slightly faster than SCX24, slightly better articulation, but not as much torque or low-speed control). Wheel weights for the SCX24 will probably fit the Carisma as well.

Kyosho has a mini Z crawler but I don't see that around very often. Seems a lot more pricey, but with very good scale looks.

The Traxxas TRX4M is 1/18, but very close in size to an SCX24. Parts are available everywhere including local hobby stores.

The FCX24's are great and the "Butcher" power wagon version performs better than the SCX24 out of the box

The HobbyPlus CR-18P Evo is an upgrade of the older CR-18 and CR-18P that has portals and a 2 speed transmission like the FCX24 and a much better ESC, this also performs great out of the box.

I've had nearly all the micro and mini crawlers since the beginning of micro crawlers and I'd pick any 3 of these over the SCX24 personally.

All 3 have significantly better And larger motors than the SCX24. The last 2 for performance, parts are pretty available for all, but if you live somewhere where RC crawling isn't popular and you prefer local parts to online Traxxas may be the better option for you

Scx24 is good when you have modded it. But you never get enough wheel speed to get over obstacles. Ok, with 3s you do. I modded mine a lot, furitek micro komodo with tegu plus all the brass. Wasn’t satisfied with it. Also bought a pro line dodge power wagon body(low center of gravity) the body weighs about 17grams, c10 stock was 38 gram. Wheels & tires from asiatees or injora.

Scx24 is ok, but servo is weak even with no brass. So you have to update that at least when the servo dies. My motor worked quite long, I used it even with the tegu. Before that I had a barrage motor.

I have also looked at the hobbyplus rigs as mentioned above, but never owned one.

A solid performer is also the fms fcx24. That’s probably the best bang for buck. Even though I haven’t driven mine much. It’s a bit top heavy and short, but that can be fixed and it isn’t expensive. Bonus: there are o-rings included so you can add oil to the shocks.

Adding long shocks to a FCX24 definitely opens up its abilities.

My collection of micros consist of SCX24's and TRX4m's. Some are moderately modded with a couple of aftermarket frames. I don't go as crazy as some, not big on flex, I build all mine to run on my 2 courses. I have looked at the FX24's and thought about purchasing one but the parts availability is what has stopped me so far. I don't want to wait a month for placement parts when I can get parts for a SCX24 is a couple of days.

Being a Ford guy I purchased the FCX Smasher on sale . It was my second RC car after a AX24 . I like that the ESC and battery are mounted forward , the two speed trans adds a little fun . Unfortunately the stock steering link is like rubber and the axle pinion angle is low . Treal, Injora and Furitek parts can be found at Heli-direct and delivery in a few days .

I built mine to crawl and haul .
