Well first test flight is in the books, my first setup was WAY heavy so I had to re-think it. Ended up making it much more simple anyway.

So check out the vid I was way shaky because I hadn't flown forever, but it started to come back. The heli felt a little weird with the extra weight as well.

Better you than me.
I'll stick with my MCX2.
Nice job, and thanks for getting that done and tested, this should be awesome!

After my test flight I think I'll be able to use it in more locations. I'm confident I could use it up near the falls now, I just would not be able to get super wide shots.

I have a suspicious feeling that the KCRC videos are going to get a lot more views in the near future.

Anyone see the new HD Hero 2 just came out? It has some impressive stats! I think the prices on all the old HD's went down quite a bit now too.

HD 960 is $149 now. Can't remember exactly what it was before.

Matt had a great idea for some trail shots as well. I'll let him describe his idea.

I wish I had a Go Pro camera. Seems like every time I'm ready to get one, something comes up. Ahhh, the joys of home owership.

Well that would be something, It would save me from having to come up with a in car mount.I'm already gonna need a pack mule with that heli, id hate to have to pack my Wraith too. I need a freekin ATV to haul all this shit.

I can mount up the gopro I'm using back on the Wraith.
Maybe on top for a better follow shot type of thing.
I also have my camera phone, that really does pretty good for some accessory shots.

As for the other shot Joe mentioned.
I think it would be cool to dig a hole, insert camera facing up,
and place some clear plexi over it for some chassis shots.

Other possible camera angles...

A solid, full group panning shot of all our rigs set-up as if were getting ready to head out.

We need to get some power tool/tire changes, pit action, etc.,
tow strap/winching action.

Long trail shots with the camera facing sideways,
kinda like being in the passing lane. Perhaps even on the street (highway)
headed towards the trail.

I think Jeff said he may mount his in the bed facing rearward for some follow me shots.

IN and out of the water with the camera during the 2nd leg of the event, at the falls. Maybe coming out from behind the falls.

Maybe we can continue to build this list, add to it, and have some print it out for reference during the event?

And don't forget to bring a back-pack, sounds like there will be a need for a free hand or two.

And I think we should maybe get a Wraith Rock Race going back in the first area, close to wrap up before lunch. It would lend itself to quite a bit of sweet higher speed action.

And, do we, or don't we need more marker flags?

Also, what's going to be the best way to get all this media to Evol for editing?
And when is the editing party?

Probably, most of our stuff is on my Youtube channel (link in my sig)

I have a feeling that this one will be more of a learning experience, but I think the end goal is to have a comp, and produce a marketable video to sell.
