Looking good guys!
Glad to see the excitement building!

Ask Matt it was his idea. I think the context in which it was mentioned was for the club to be able to raise some money for building materials and such. I don't monetize any of the videos I do for the club, or with traffic generated directly from this site, but I do reserve the right to monetize anything I do on my own. That's the direction I'm headed if you're interested in full transparency. Any time I spend on videos for the club is just like anything else anyone contributes... I don't expect any compensation for it.

I won't be running off and selling DVDs of this weekend's footage if that is what you're thinking.

**edit** if any of this sounds hostile it's not, I've tried to re-word it about 3 times and it just keeps sounding that way. Mabey I should take a break from posting. I'll be in the lair if any needs me...lol

Hell I've bought scale videos featuring other peoples rigs.

I'd buy one that fetured local rigs.

Well thanks for the informative post. But I was just asking how you go about getting monetary compensation for youtube videos.

Go into your settings in youtube and there is a section to activate monetization. They look at your account and it goes through some approval process. If everything is good they activate it and give you the option to monetize your videos. IF you activate it on a video an ad runs before your video, then you get paid for clicks. Not sure how much I havn't done it yet

They have to invite you to be monetized first. Then you have to select each video individually for monetization.

I don't post many videos but my videos make about $25 a month. You collect through google Adsense and they just deposit in your PayPal. Pretty easy.

I was asked. And I went through everything and the only thing wrong(reason why I cant be a partner) was that I am not old enough! YOu have to be 18 and I am 15.

They said a parent or guardian can do it, and I had my mom do it, and guess what......still not old enough! IDK. It pissed me off. I could use some money to put towards my RC hobby.

Exspecialy since I am getting a new chevy tuber that needs a crap load of stuff to get running haha.

Holy God we got a shit ton of video. We are up to 33 min of usable clips and I havnt finished yet AND I havnt gone through Jeffs stuff. I suspect we will hit the hour mark quite easily. We may want to think about a DVD release seriously.

You guys got some nice shots on the hill climb when you were down there without me. The side by side hill climb racing was a nice touch.

Quick tip, most of the shots where the cam was upside down are no good though because the stick blocked enough light to mess up the white balance. That combined with being out of the sun behind that hill. We still got some salvageable shots though.

My brain is still upside though I still feel the disorintation from looking at upside down video for so long..lol

Ah well, enough of sitting in the editing chair, time to get some wrenching done on the honcho, I got some videos brewing on that as well
