It looks like I will be able to make this one. I am bummed, I wont be able to run my mini. I had it all together and in the course of testing it I broke something and I can't get a replacement part until next week :-(. I was hoping it would make it's debut this weekend and crush all the Losi's . I guess I'll have to wait until next time, so you guys get a reprieve. Now I just need to finish getting my 2.2 comp ready. I still wont have time to get my dig installed before the weekend, that will have to wait too. |

Well, I had an R2 tranny lying around, so I decided to use that. The funny and apparently unwise part was to mate that with a 4400kv brushless motor running an 8T pinion. I drove it for about 5 min at which time I decided to see what it could do. I punched it while sitting on a level concrete floor. Suddenly it would move anymore. The motor would turn, but that was it, the drive shafts wouldn't turn. After I took the tranny apart I found that I had flattened 2 teeth on the drive gear. I was running the short shaft version. I need a new one of those. They're only $10, but I can't get one before Saturday. I think my motor exceeded factory specs for for an R2. I will definitely be changing the motor. | |
