I have a question about rock racing. I know we have something scheduled in June, and I would like to know what rules we are following. Are we basically sticking to Badgers rules

12.5" wheel base
4.25" oem tires ( no reduced 2.2's)
10" width

Some groups are running a 10 or 10.5" wheel base and allowing reduced tires. Since this is not really an official thing yet, do we have a locally established criteria?

I want to make sure I build mine according to club rules.

This is mostly for fun at this point I am saying bring it on with one rule and that is 2.2 wheels. If Jerry or Matt what to make more restrictions then chime In. I would like to see what people come up with to go fast on the rocks. I will tell you that I am going to build a technical course with some jumps and fast parts as well.

We are just doing "lanes" through a course like a 1:1 rock race right?

Yes although I was going to avoid the running after the rigs like last year.
So it will be shorter and harder.

In that case I have some cut down Rock Lizards that come in at just under 4.5" that I will be running on 1.9" rims. I really like how these tires have come out, I just wish they were a little bit softer.

You said jumps so I don't care about anything else Although I am not sure I could drive any type of technical track without being right over my crawler

I say we encourage everyone to get there early Saturday, say 9. That way we can start running and be done before the rain percentages ramp up. I will gladly be there early to help set courses.
