Thumbs up ~~ CC-01 Scale Class ~~

Guys, this topic has come up many times and we are thinking about adding it to scale nats this next year. What do you guys think about having some comps with these little guys in montana over the next few months to see how it goes? The ORCRC crew has been doing this for awhile and had GREAT success with it. This in NO way will take away from our regular comps, just an added bonus for those who want to participate.

How many people have CC-01's already?
How many people would buy and build one if we had a class?
How many people are as excited as I am to run them in a group?

Post up, I want to hear all thoughts.

here are the rules that OREGON runs:

Class rules:

1. Must use a CC-01/XC chassis.
2. Must have IFS.
3. Must have a hardbody.
4. Steering servo must be in the stock location.

Course design:

CC-01/XC's will run a standard 10 gate 1.9 course, modified to make it slightly easier. CC-01/XC trucks will run first, before the 1.9's.

CC-01/XC's will be able to run the new class or 1.9 class but not both (Please pick a class, and stick with it throughout the series).

Those are the rules ORCRC use and they work, so why change them?
I'd imagine you could haul your trailer around, but I don't know why you'd want to do that since it would put you at a serious disadvantage in a comp

I love that truck matt. Here is a pic of my new CC-01 courtesy of K2. this was at norris.

I also have a roller CC-01 with a pajero body that has been made in to a pickup, has a rc3wd gear reduction unit , 645 servo, locked diffs and bearings, if anyone needs a truck to get started it would be a good one, hit me up.

You can count me in for this. I've been watching for a Wrangler for awhile and when one pops up I'll get it. Don't want to build a new one, don't have the time.

BTW when would an event be held.

was just a question, why not improve on something

as far as the trailer...would go for the more "scale" look

That's cool, but my vote would have to go to keeping the rules the way they are already There's a couple reasons for that and I'm sure Ben will tell us soon enough

I had a trailer (Ben has it now) that I towed around with my FJ Cruiser CC-01 and it was good on the flat stuff, but when it came to any "serious" off roading, I left the trailer on the side of the road. Just too much dead weight... For the "scale" look, you can't beat a trailer behind your rig, though

I found one with a long wheel base chassis but appears to be unaltered from stock. Is that OK for the comp?

I would think so. Sounds like you found the Touraeg chassis, which has a longer wheelbase than the Jeep, Jero, etc

Is there a pic on Tamiya's site? Might have to get that instead of a Jeep.
