That is awesome! really dig the driver and codriver, really cool. Your wood barn for the truck is well done, could be the route to go for a diorama?!

Thanks! The hole Idea with the barn was to use it as a diorama to store and take photos of my truck in but as usual i ran out of space!

As for cost i have used not much more than what you would have to cough up for a kit scx with one or two uppgrades!
Its based on two hsp pangolin that i got from the service departement at a hobby dealer. By todays currency i payed 120usd fort both and the where nearly complete. One had a broken servo the other had a missing drive shaft and broken esc.
All other part are leftovers, handme downs, and aluminium profiles!

I hope i never have to sell it
Wouldnt know the value of it either!

I couldnt help myself when i realized that i had the majority of parts laying around for another 6x6!
This time i tried a different aproach on making the cabin, i glued it together from balsawood and will cover the outside with polyester resin and the same with reinforcement on the inside!
I havent given up on the Maz project, i just realized that i bought to cheap cars for the driveline and will save som buck for two aluminium sets instead.
This truck will be a Kamaz 4310!

Bought four more rims of the same type i already have on the front.
These four will for starters have a different color. I am going for a rusty civillian truck with som aftermounted army scrap parts!

Only three more to paint!

Nothing against the Russian trucks here. Nice to see something unique for a change.

The weather effect really sets it apart. Looks spot on.

Looks good man, I like the zil the best so far. I would maybe suggest making the center axle a pass through so you dont have to have the pillow block and 2 extra driveshafts on each build though.

Default 6x6 rc truck with Zil 157 as inspiration!

Thanks!
There are certain positive things with using one driveshaft for each axle.
I get a better angle for each driveshafts.
I dont get any problems with the short driveshafts between the wheels and i can get the wheels very close together.
And i dont need to modify an scx axle to get the second output.
Nothing against pass thru axles, i just prefer this way.

The Zil got more work then the kamaz cabin. I wanted to test another method of making a cabin then how i made the Zil cabin.

I shortened the making process alot but could have a made a bit more effort on the shape. I want to test the strenght of this method before putting down to much time.

The fun for me is making as much as possible myself but not being afraid of realy driving it hard!

Some more details made. Fueltanks, snorkel, or air intake pipe. Dont know the name for it, and spare tire holder.

Worked a bit on the footsteps on the cabin and on the rear bumper so it dosent get stuck on those parts.

Great build. Love the trucks you chose.

I am about to build a 6x6 truck that will be used for competitions. I am having trouble choosing which suspension design I should go with. Walking beam like your ZIL or 4link like other RCs. What are your thoughts? And could you post a pic of the center axle at max articulation please.

Thank you in advance...

If you are building a competition rigg fourlink with both rear axles individually mounted with fourlink to the chassi provides smoothest articulation and follows the ground better.

I dont think you can get a walking beam as smooth as a fourlink setup.
