Default 6x6 Recovery Vehicle Help

Hi Guys, I could really use some help designing this.

I want to build a 6x6 recovery vehicle to support my Axial Jeep. I'm not sure where to start...

Do I start with a kit such as the SCX-10 that contains most of the parts? Or, do I buy all thee parts separately? Also, Where do I get thee 6x6 parts?

I have seen some posts that show 6x6 vehicles that use aan extended Axial frame. Where do you get the extensions?

Building is where all the fun is for me so definitely don't want to start with rtr.

I Would really appreciate it if you guys could start me off in the right direction.

Thanks,
JimmyPickles

The scx-10 frame "extensions" are a second frame that has been cut and spliced to the stock chassis to form one long chassis.

The pass through axles are built from using 2 of the housings that have the provisions for the pinion gear.

Spend some time and read through the 6x6 builds in here, there are plenty of well documented build threads.

Talk to Ninja76, He has his worminator up for sale!
But for kit form there is allways Cross and Capo models. I am going to build a 8x8 from scratch with MOA parts.

What he said.

Using Wk axles I made a custom chassis out of 1\8" x 2" aluminum, and some 1\2" x 1\2" aluminum angle.
Also used 4 axles to make 3. Back halfs of 2 and 1 spur is still in a parts box.
Lots of custom stuff.
