Tower pro's have proven very durable for me. I would never consider them a competition level servo. However, they work fantastic for scale rigs.

Hitec 5955TG or JR 9100t have been fantastic servos for me.
5955tg= discontinued at TH. Anyone still have them?

Looks promising. Gearset looks beefy and the price is nice.

EDIT: It actually seems to be the same servo. The specs are all the same and it even uses a hitec servo arm. Hmmm.

Thanks guys!

I would disagree entirely. That servo is not strong enough to move the truck with weight on it. I have used on and multiple times found my self unable to turn my wheels because the tire was butted up against the side of a rock.

A steering servo should be able to push the truck over.

Far as I know. It's a Hitec just rebadged. I maybe wrong.

The tower site doesn't say what connection it comes with. Will it plug into a Newer Futaba FM reciever?

I'm still kinda newb on electronics on these things ... will all servos plug into all recievers regardless of brand?

Thanks

It probably has the universal Z connector on it. Only Futaba has a keyed connector shell that I know of. Any new servo and radio will have compatible polarities. Usually you slice off Futaba's connector tab to use it in other brands of radios.

It may be quieter than the 5955 but in my opinion it's noisier than any other digital servo I have. But again that is very typical of Hitec, the noise, I think it may be programmed in so other people can tell you're using Hitec. Sort of like cheap advertising.:-P

So does this Hobico make the humming noise like the Hitecs?

I've run the Hobbico in my comp rig all season with very good results. Strong enough to easily walk the front end down a slope. Occasionally I find myself in a situation where the servo is overpowered by the bind the rig is in. Is that normal? I hope so...
