| 'Rod ends'?
What is the equivalent of a rod end called in the RC world? I want to get some alum. links and I'm looking at the CKRC stage 2 kit, but being that i have the RTR the ends of the links are part of the link. Does that kit come with the joints to attach the links to the chassis and axle? If not where can i find them? or what are they called and I can go look.. and do i need the Y looking thing that the 2 upper links come into then attach to the axle? http://www.ckrccrawlers.com/shop/ind...roducts_id=575 I could make you a list when it came to doing suspension on a real truck.. but this is a new language to me, thanks for the help. Most everyone calls them rod ends here too. Can't help you with the CKRC question as I've not seen their kit to know if the ends for the bent links are included or not. If you're interested in just bent links, we offer a complete set of four with ends included for under $20. http://www.crawfordperformanceengine...roducts_id=190 |

my links are fatigued so they like to twist up alot easier now.. so what I'm looking for is something stronger. with those links, is it just bolt in or do i need to buy some other stuff to make it function correctly? I noticed here they used spacers to move them inboard further and looking at my rig sitting here it looks like they do that to clear the shocks? http://www.rccrawler.com/axialcompbuild.html |

Our links use 6-32 studs and Dubro rod ends versus the 3mm studs and smaller rod ends with the stock axial kit. As far as that article, they moved the lower links in order to help the suspension geometry a bit, while still using the stock chassis. Our links are direct replacements for the stock parts and don't require any changes for them to fit. If you're looking at mounting the lower links inboard of the chassis like shown, they may need a similar spacer to properly clear the spring on the shock. Thanks! |

well, once I get another pair of those Losi rock claws you have yourself a sale I'm tired of the stupid plastic links bending and the truck just twisting up instead of pushing on. |
