| starting a build from scratch
i want to build a large rig close to 1/8 scale.what's the best material to start a chassis with for a beginner? brake line? i have never brazed, is there a certain type that works best for these. what are some common taps that are needed?

I found this today, might help with the brazing. Brazing Video As far as the taps its hard to say, depends on the size tube you are using. I use and 8-32 tap on the .049 wall tube and that puts just enough threads in there to hold a rod end. |

You could also make it out of Delrin or Acetal. Then use 3/16th delrin rod for the chassis braces. Mcmaster Carr is a great place to price out the material. And the up side you can cut Delrin or Acetal with a dremel. Good luck and post up your finished product which ever way you go. | |
