Start by reading all the Stickies at the top of the Axial sub-forum. Then as your time permits, browse through the [several hundred!] pages of threads.....all that will give you a baseline of knowledge so you can ask specific questions. How to make a rig competition worthy is difficult to address in a single thread because there are so many different things to do, with as many opinions on what works best. That's why we'll tell you to "read, read, read." There's just too much, especially for these Axials - whether they start with lots of plastic or not. ;) |

The #1 thing you can do to make yourself competitive is to practice, learn how your rig reacts over different obsticles and what happens when you make adjustments. Here is a short list of hardware upgrades to search on: 4-Link, this will help control the torque twist Dig, you don't have to have it, but it is a great thing to have. Servo, get a stronger one and lose the servo saver ( > 200oz) Aluminum or Delrin links, those plastic links flex where you don't want them to. ESC, the Axial ESC is ok, but a drag break helps, A LOT Battery, you'll want to get the battery off of that tray and down on your front axel (NiMH or LIPO). Weight. No matter how you have your rig set up now, if you can compete in a comp do so. Most of the peeps at comps are more than willing to answer questions, give advice and let you look over their rigs (after asking, of coarse), just don't ask when they are on course. |

Heres a link I found in the tech on the home page. http://www.rccrawler.com/axialcompbuild.html Just take it to a local comp and run it.....You never know you might end up the best driver there and win or come close second. | |
