Default Set Up Help

I am building my first truck (Scale) since my clodbuster days. I will be running a 35T motor (HH Torquemaster, hopefully). I will also have dual steering servos for 4ws. At this point I don't plan on having any other channels. I will be using a Spektrum 2.4 6ch from an old sailboat I had. I plan on running a 7.2V stick battery and a Rooster crawler ESC. Is a BEC required? Thank you for the help and feel free to comment on alternate set ups I might want to investigate. At this point I am just going with what I know.
