| Dual or Single ESC
This is my first MOA and I have a quick question about single vs dual ESC. I am going with the HH ESC and HH handwound 45Ts and a punk dig switch. However, I did just order a new 4PKS and now am wondering if I should go with a dual ESC setup. Is one set up better than the other or is it really just a matter of preference? Is it a waste to have the 4PKS and not go dual ESC? |

Yes if your not going to run dual esc's it kind of a waste to buy the 4pks, Im looking to buy a 4pk though, right now im running a punk dig with the DX3s.

| Alrighty, thanks. Looks like I will ditch the punk and pick up another HH ESC. I originally got the 4PKS for a Gmade R1 I am running with RWS and a dig unit. Might as well go all out on the XR10 as well...thanks again for the info.

Make sure to check out the 4PK thread for a programming guide on using dual ESC's.

I never realized what an advantage it is to mix ESC. I'm always flipping from 70% - 90% on my rear depending on what I'm crawling For instance....In some cases I would have to dig up something and click all in to make it. With the 4PK you can sometimes drop it into 70% rear and easily crawl up the same section without using dig...Its an advantage | |

I am new to the MOA setup as well. Could someone please tell me the advantage of running dual ESC's compared to single? is it just to reduce/eliminate "Clod Stall"? A few guys I know with Bergs are running single ESC with a punk and that setup seams to work pretty well for them. I haven't gotten any electronics for my XR10 yet (other than JR 3ch radio) but was thinking about going with a HH ESC, Punk dig and JPH 41T motors. THanks for any suggestions or information.

See the link above. There are video demos of how it works and why. It's way more than just eliminating clod stall, that has almost nothing to do with it really. Dual esc's are a big advantage but you need to have a radio capable of mixing properly to take advantage of it. |

OK, i will check out the link. Thank you very much. The only thing i am concerned about if i run single ESC (cant afford a better radio at this time) is, how bad will the clod stall be? This might be a little exaggerated but, if im driving on flat ground in 4wd and go up against a virticle wall, will the front motor slow down drastically?

RPP usually has them in stock at a good price and it's hard to beat their service. Ultimatehobbies.com is usually cheapest but can sometimes be just a little more difficult to work with in my expierence. Quote:
