For my first one, I did what boog1313 mentioned. Found a used Creeper for cheap, and it has worked great. AX10 would be a good choice also.

Lets see, Venom Creeper $129 or less Sky Fly GT3B 3 channel radio $37.00! (No lie I use one for my venom) 645 servo $25.00 or cheaper used. Speedo I dont know about the lower end models but I'm pretty sure you can get a decent one for a good price. AX10 RTR will be a little more. Both are good choices. I own the Venom and its definately a good rig. I have no complaints. My friend owns the AX10 and his is good too but he had to mod it a bit. It's 3 link out of the box. He shoulda just GC-3a'd it but I'm glad he didn't cause then he would be giving me more competition. The LNC is a very good rig but more expensive than either of the above. If you are good at building then you should consider a used rig, you generally get very good deals on them. BUT I can almost guarantee that you will need to fix them up a bit. My advice is to look on the forums, watch some vids and get to know what your heart secretly desires. If you wont be happy with someone elses rig, dont go used. If you dont want to have to build your rig get a rtr. everything out there will climb rocks and allow you to have fun. Some of them are more durable or offer more possible upgrades. A couple are more capable in stock form than others are ion stock form, but take a look around the forums nothing stays stock for long! =) |

I wish it(rx10) woulda been out when I started cuz it's a great starter rig if u like a MOA.I got an axial ax10 rtc and like everyone says it only stays stock for as long as it takes to find the right links for cheap mods...There is alot u can do to it w/no money needed just time and tools. And this is very addictive worse than crack... U'll SEE! Have fun w/ur new addiction |

| Re: Best crawler for $200
I just got a used Exceed mad torque and I love it! paid 80 bucks for it, I will start modding it soon.... switch to lipo, better servos and rear steer coming soon. More I read about it and use it the more I like it. Seems to be built pretty strong other then plastic steering knuckles but those can be upgraded to aluminum ax10 ones. It's my first crawler but I am very impressed by it, it's always suprising me with how capable and dependable it's been so far. Just wish I could find a better lookin body for it
