| Cut Memory Foams??
Got a new set of 2.2 Proline Flat Irons w/ memory foam. I've searched and can't find a definitive answer on if and how I should cut the memory foams. Going on a Wraith for trail running and general bashing. Cut tons of foams for 1/8 buggy and SC racing. This is my first scaler. Thanks.

These days, there are plenty of foams available that are appropriate for this application without the need for cutting. If you are wanting to simply use what you have, then don't cut the foams. Memory foam is temperature sensitive and will fell hard in colder weather. |

Tell me about it. I have memory foams in my comp claws and when its cold they get pretty stiff. I will need to get something else.

I use a electric fish fillet knife, it makes cutting any foam a breeze. |

Ive never cut foam for tires but have for other things with mixed results. If I was going to try something new Id start out by using the center ring if you have bead locks. Press down firmly into the foam on a hard surface and cut around with a razor. Hopefully that would produce a nice center hole. Next I would use something larger for the outside diameter doing the same thing. To get the width correct Id do the same squishing it down with something flat to cut the correct width. And if it comes out like crap swear and order some pre cut ones.

For my cold weather tires I tried cutting the foams but found they didn't work well. for attempt #2 I used a leather hole punch and put a bunch of holes through the foam. This worked much better.
