Default Subtrim explanation?

Does subtrim affect overall servo throw? Or does it make it where the servo has unequal lengths of throw depending on side? Is using subtrim a bad thing?

I seem to be having trouble locating info about this and in my two applications it is seeming to take a subtrim of somewhere from 50-70 to get my horn centered appropriately. The problems I am having is on a SCX10 with a hand bros CMS I can't get the servo horn centered properly and the same problem on a XR10 that I have flipped the servo over on.

subtrim is a finer trim adjustment than regular trim. one subtrim click is about half of what one regular trim click is

did you zero your trims before installing the horn? if not, pull the horn off, power up and center the radio trims.reinstall the horn as close to center as you can, then trim it from there

dual rate or D/R changes throw in both directions
end point adjustments or EPA adjusts throw in each direction individually

Trim only moves the neutral point, whereas subtrim moves the whole travel. If you use trim you'll find what you described ie unequal servo throw in opposite directions.

You need to mechanically center your servo horn as best you can, then use subtrim to electronically center it precisely, and then EPA.

That's what I was hoping Maxx. I've never had a problem mounting a servo in the standard location, but moving/flipping it had made it where I can no longer mechanically center the servo horns. I am glad to hear this is not going to reduce my overall travel.
