Default scale and comp classes

well i searched and searched but didnt come up with it..
since im new at this stuff and my ax10 is bout done...
i want to move to a foff (slow build to be done by next summer)....

my son wants to build a truck and I see people referencing classes.. running in scale class 1 or class 3 or comp class 2..

is there a chart anywhere here or some good reading so i can get my head around this tuff?

personally we are gonna just build what we like and have fun as I am not a part of a club.... yet...

i would like to know the differences so i know how close mine is to a certain class or what is needed to move it to said class.

thanks all

2012 SORCCA Scale Rules

For me, personally, I don't give a crap about the rules because I don't comp. I just build and run what appeals to me, it doesn't have to fit in a category.

Hi Rootbreaker.....

There are at least 3 basic groups:

Comp class
Scalers
FOFF

Since I know comp class, here it goes.

1.9 = max rim diameter of 1.9", no rear steer, no "dig"
2.2 = max rim diameter of 2.2", no rear steer
Super = pretty much everything

All 3 have max wheelbase rules as well as chassis length or body length (plus other dimensions).

If you're "running for fun", do what you want.
If you're going to comp, then yes, go by the rules. Our local group will "bend a bit" for new guys, but we will nudge you into the correct direction as required.

thanks for the info...
wow that sucks.. i dont want to put dig on mine but want to do rear steer... .hah...

ok.. i have seen TTC (yes i know it is top truck challenge) so thought that was a seperate class...

interesting that FOFF has its own class..

guess i will just do that.. my ax10 is bout done. .mostly stock... it will get a better motor down the line and rear steer.. but that is it...maybe better tires once these wear out...

im gonna do a foff.... gonna try and do a 1.9 4s-6s lipo slammed down camaro...

then eventually a leaf sprung 1:1 scaler to replicate my 78 chevy lifted, detroitted, snorkel mudder

so i will just keep on learning!!!!!!!!!!

As I stated, there are AT LEAST 3 basic classes. Go ~1/2 way down the main page here on RCC, you can find the various rules.

Keep in mind, GSRCRC tends to run:

1.9
2.2
Supers (sometimes)
Dez is pushing for a scale series.

EPARC does similar, but I believe also have G6. So, I would pick 1 or more classes that get run locally at comps. Or, pick what you want to do knowing you may not be able to run a local comp class or have to "modify" your rig to comp.
