Default Brushless esc with a brushed motor?

Is it possible? I bought a mrc here on the classifieds and it was setup with a brushless mamba esc with brushed mini 35 T motor. I couldn't get the esc to calibrate with the rx and I smelled a bit of burning. Any thoughts?

Most Castle ESC's can run brushed or brushless. You need to make sure it's set to brushed in the ESC.

A CastleLink makes it easy, but you can do it through the radio.

Go to Castle Creations and get the manual. I could do it, but you need to do it.
