usually a higher turn motor like a 14.5T or a 16.5T maybe even an 18.5T are used for "crawling" and mild trails, but the lower turn motors are more on the bashing, speedy side, and another big variable is your gearing, you can run a faster motor and gear low, or run a slower motor and gear high, its all up to you, just go out and try it out, hope this helps.

^^^ Agreed
Motor type and size, gearing, type of battery, tire size and weight of the rig are all factors when choosing your set up.

Ask yourself what you want to do with the wraith, ie; trail runs, backyard bashing, rock crawling, etc. and that will help narrow down the possible options

The number of poles matters too. I use a 3400kv 4 pole and it will creep pretty well and crawls great. Plenty of wheel speed for wheelies and big jumps too.

anything cheap and sensored, ive heard alot of systems out there are good ones, since your not racing and putting it under alot of stress or many heat cycles, anything used and good condition you can find here on the forum should work good for you

Here's a good place to do your research. Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! Covers a lot of questions.

Running a Roc412 2300 and 3100 and they are both excellent motors......great wheel speed and gobs of torque....
You might want to upgrade your tranny...drivelines etc. if you want to go that route

I use this: Brushless R/C Buggies, Trucks, Helicopter, Electronics, Transmitters, Parts, and Accessories Store
If you type "LT4upgrade" in the coupon code box at checkout, the cost is $55. I run one of these in my wraith, and another in my SC10FT. It's run 2 pole and 4 pole 7.5T 4800Kv, 7.5T 5000Kv, 10T 3500Kv, 13.5T 2850Kv, and a 500 class heli 1650Kv outrunner motor on both 2s and 3s. Esc never gave me one problem and always runs cool even with the fan removed.

I run a Novak 17.5 in my son's Wraith and a Tekin 412 3100kv in my Wraith. Both are great for trail driving that we do on 2s. On 3s it's crazy fast.
