Hi Guys i am looking into getting a twin hammers ![]() There has been a lot of talk about the shifting servo and the esc playing up/burning up I was just wondering is it really that bad or people are just treating the truck to hard. If it is that bad can someone please put me on to a good combination/mods to make this truck more reliable Any info will be appreciated thanx |

If you spend 5min adjusting the end points of the shift servo you'll have no problems.

I have one and if you set the end points on the shift servo your good to go...and do it out of the box... Not after you tried it out...doit from the get go, and I know you won't have and of those kind of issues...

the only things ive broken on my t.h. was the front shock mount. replaced tha with blue monkey shock mount. and the battery tray. but the battery tray was my stupid fault for trying out a 6cell nimh pack in it and crashing it down a 10' rock hill from top to bottom. and i dident ajust the shift servo out of the box so that went out after 2 weeks. horizon is way good about that though and had the free replacment here in about 3 days. did the adjustments on that no problems after that. by far my favorite truck i have. love it a lot. enjoy yours.

Have had my TH for 3 weeks now and absolutely love it, (no one had it in stock in Aus so it had to be back ordered :(. Anyway my shift servo is still going good but I still reckon it might give in. Anyway if it does give in what should i do. Buy a new stronger servo (brands please) or i have heard of people replacing with the steering servo.

I never ran the stock servo I put a Hitec 225mg right off the bat and I've got alot of run time and no problems. If you set it up properly with some sort of servo saver( I used the Squirrel setup) you don't need to go to a full size unless you want that extra durability.

Looks like i spoke to soon:( the shift servo packed it in and so i have stuck it in high gear. I think i might go straight to a Hitec 225mg. Thanks for the information on that too

Is the Twin Hammers all time 4wd or only when locked in low range. i just noticed after my shifting servo blew up that in high gear it is only rear wheel drive i am just a bit unsure as i know that it is 4wd and if it is all time 4wd then my front diff or drivetrain has packed it in as well ![]() |

Should be 4wd with an open diff in the front.

yes that's right. There seems to be power through the drive train to the front diff and that's it. No front wheel drive at all

check the front driveshaft... mine comes loose often.. if your front wheels are spinning and the rears aren't,thats it. if your gonna be crawling with it,lock the front diff. |

I tightened the drive shaft to the front diff and all good......for about 1/2 a run and came loose again. Don't know why it came loose again. My back drive shaft came loose but after tightening up it has been fine since. I don't know if anyone else has had this trouble, but if they have what can i do to stop is coming loose ?
