You would be much better served buying a used axial based rig from the classifieds here. Then if you don't like it you can resell it for what you paid for it instead of being stuck with used china junk that nobody will want. If you do like it you will already own a decent rig.

Please please please don't get a red cat. I thought I would pick one up off local craigslist to have as back up and ended up spending so much more jus to get it decent crawling. Needless to say I did the best upgrade to it tho. Traded it for something else!!!!! Lol. I would suggest keeping an eye out in ur local craigslist for a decent used axial rig or even a losi night crawler or comp crawler. I've seen them go for pretty inexpensive. I'm sure you will end up liking the hobby tho. Everyone does. Id even check out your local hobby shops and see if anyone has used ones for sale. Or look at the axial ridgecrest. Its an awesome starter rig and has the wraith axles so you could get the wraith chassis complete kit and then have two rigs essentially. Jus have to swap over axles links springs tranny and electronics. But like I said you will like the hobby as most all us do so don't be too hesitant to spend a lil more for a better rig.

That's a pretty good price. Any mods done to it? Like said before the axial are good cuz if you don't like it you can resell usually for what its worth.

That's a rtr. Be aware that the kit version has better tires, better springs, better shock pistons, better axle shafts. Personally I would buy a star so you can use the classified here. I don't know if you already have rc stuff but if you already have electronics than a new kit wraith is about $300.

Well if it comes with everything ( rx&tx, battery etc) I would try and get him down below $300 period, pics didn't look like it was in "mint" condition, but it all depends on condition and if anything is broke or has any issues etc, heck u can get a new one for under $399 all day Long, if it was me, I would offer him $250- maybe $275 , if he doesn't take that, look on here and find something... Alot of good deals on this forum and a bunch of great guys & gals to deal with! Is a wraith what your looking for??

I started with a redcat and had to do alot of tweaking to get it to want to do anything. First real run with it I lost both servos a broke several end links. I suggest just spend 100-200 more and get a good one. All redcat crawlers are good for and some gears and bearings and extra screws and such.

Ridge crests are good rigs. I have one and love it. Its a great starter rig and if you get tired of the crest chassis you can get a wraith complete chassis for really inexpensive and swap all ur stuff over.
