Default Cooling Fan On Esc?

Is it possible/smart to mount a cooling fan over my esc? It's in an enclosed box on my Wraith and although I have not overheated it yet, running it this time of year worries me.

I've thought about just cutting a hole in the lid anyway. With or without the idea of a fan. I don't go in water or mud anyway.

Running 3s on it and it hasn't gave any problems yet. Maybe I'm just worrying.

You'll be fine. I ran the same setup on my honcho in a water proof box and never had any problems.

Will the FXR shut off before it overheats anyway?

Yes it has a cut off for over heating.

Cool. Thanks. I bought it second hand, so I don't have paperwork on it. I guess i could go online and print one off. But I'd rather have advice from another user any day. Thanks again.

If anything happens to it, you can still send it into Tekin. Just go to their website and it has all the info you need to fill out to get it repaired or replaced.

Since the Fx-r use the motor leads as cooling fins most of the cooling happens outside the box anyway...

I never thought of that. That being said, would it be smart to mount a fan on the motor?

If the drivetrain is free moving & you're not overgeared, the motor & ESC should never get hot in a crawler.
Go-fasts are another matter, so, I would say you don't need a fan on anything in your rig.
