Hey everyone, i'm a complete newbie to the rc crawling scene. I'm from India so there's very little available here by way of support/spares/info etc. So i would like to thank everyone here on this site for all the info that i picked up while trolling the site before i got myself a Tamiya cc01 Unimog rtr. I love the scale look and i dont want a dedicated crawler. Just some basic trails and entry level crawling stuff, ( dont want to break anything coz then my rig will be down for months before i can get any replacements!!). I picked up the truck from a hobby store in Dubai. I got a winch(just for fun) and it looks cool. I also managed to get a set of rock bloc tires with rims and the tamiya stroke extension links from the US. Had someone travelling there so got them to pick the stuff up for me. The add on bits have made quite an improvement in the capabilities of the cc01. I went through a lot of posts on the site and then made my decision. Thanks once again everybody for the info. will put up a few pics of my truck soon, its very basic compared to just about anything thats on this site but its a start. Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction. Will get an Scx10 later. have to get that approved by my wife !! |

Right on, man. Welcome to crawling/trailing. I have a CR-01 Unimog, and I love the detail on that body. For spare/upgrade parts, remember to check out asiatees.com. Lots of Tamiya stuff and great prices.

Welcome to your new addiction , I'm thinking a cc01 will be my next build as I just got a sweet Chevrolet ssr body that would fit one nicely.
