Scx10 metal transmission gear questions?

Hey guys for those of you who seen my last post will know what happened (stupid plastic gears...) but I just had a question. Just ordered some hot racing metal tranny gears, just the 3 ones near the driveshafts, and I was wondering if the 3 metal gears are okay to run with the other plastic gear and the rest of the scx10 being stock?

Do you mean the spur gear? If so, then yes. You want to keep that gear plastic just in case. Think of it as a cheap fuse.

When you say the other "plastic gear" do you mean the spur gear? Because the 3 gears you ordered will replace all the gears in the transmission (only three in there) and if you do mean the spur gear, yes you can run the metal gears with a plastic spur.........it will act like a weak point...where as I would rather destroy a $5 spur gear then $40 metal gears.

Still new to this but after looking at metal upgrades and prices I was going to go all metal except the spur gear and just buy a handfull of them for when they wear out/= cheap fuse indeed
