You're welcome. That Hitec charger has built-in power supply, hence it's AC/DC runs off either.

From the Hitec page:

Almost there, thanks for all the help.. which C rating to get? I understand the C rating is how many amps the lipo can safetly draw at but what do I really need for crawling, led kit, 7.4v steering servo? thanks

Figure out what current your motor/esc can draw. If you think you may ever go brushless, use one of those motors for this number.

Say your motor can pull 40 amps...a 2200mah pack is actually 2.2 amp hours. 40/2.2= 18 so a 20c pack would work. Your LEDs wont draw enough to worry about unless you have some crazy setup with high powered light bars. I dont know the current draw of whatever servo you have, but it should fall well into the burst current rating of the pack.

With all that said, I try to go a bit over what I need. Usually a battery with a higher discharge C rating will also have a higher C rating for charging. I'm impatient and like to charge fast. I think 30C is the lowest that I have.

Thanks again, you guys are great helping me catch up to the hobby 10 years later...Haven't been this excited about RC in a long time..

Pulled the trigger on a Hitec X2 charger & a couple Nano-Tech 2200 3s 45-90C lippies.
