Default Where to start. Bare chassis, kit or RTR

Good evening… Still fairly new to crawlers, had a RTR wraith i bought about a year and a half ago and really enjoyed running it and was planning on upgrading it then it was stolen..
I really like the Axial bomber and would like to upgrade it as i had planned for the wraith, looking for some input on where to start, should i get a bare chassis and build from there or get the kit. Whats the best bang for the buck????
Plan on upgrading driveline, motor, suspension, wheels… Thanks for any suggestions…..

Since you have experience already, I'd suggest getting a kit. You're planning to upgrade anyways, and the kits come with upgrades that the RTR's don't have.

Kit for sure. You'll need to buy the motor, esc,rx for the build and like mike said, it comes with upgrades in the kit.

Go with the kit, has better parts than a RTR, and you choose your electronics. Probably cheaper than buying all the individual pieces also, unless you want to upgrade everything.

Thanks everyone for your input… I've crunched some numbers and makes sense to get the kit.. Its all the little parts you don't think about..
This is my 1st post here on RCcrawlers, so did some searching around and found tons of good info and learned the site….

Don't sweat wiring, most are plug and play, might need some soldering for battery connectors. Lots of good help here

All the kits come with instructions, easy enough to follow, and if you get hung up on something, try a search first, if you can't find what you're looking for, ask around here, and someone will get you an answer, just be patient.

AX10 RTR or Kit for a build? Kit seems more popular, but RTR has some nice features. nukexbi Axial AX-10 Scorpion 21 05-09-2008 01:27 PM
