Default SCX10.2 Raw builders kit sale possible?

Is there any chance the 10.2 raw builders kit will go on sale on black friday? These types of kits usually don't but maybe something will change this year because of the 10.3?

If not, I might just pick one up now for my build.

Sales do happen, but it's difficult to predict. Especially this year.

I did get mine on eBay for $175 because a couple sellers had it on sale. I think that only lasted a week though, and it was around the time the Element kit was released if I'm remembering correctly.

I've had a 10.2 since 2016, but the 10.3 is a big enough jump that I wouldn't bother with the 10.2 anymore.

I would agree on the face of it. The 10.3 is certainly a heck of a feature packed rig. But, I think the 10.2 is still a good value proposition. Particularly if you're intent is to have a dedicated ROCK CRAWLER versus a sort of "jack of all trades" rig. I liken it to the full boat TRX's versus the TRX Sport.

I agree. I scored one from AMAIN last year. I had a coupon code, some AMAIN Buck$ in my account, and it shipped free. Cost me $179 out the door.

There is no scale-accurate truck that can be considered a "dedicated rock crawler". They all compromise performance for appearance; adding features helps compensate for that compromise. Anyway, the 10.3 has a front-mounted motor, which improves the weight balance vs the 10.2, which relied on having the battery mounted above the front axle, except the battery was also mounted higher which raised the roll center of the truck. My 10.2 is my only scale truck that I had to modify the suspension to get it to stop rolling over so damned much -- and that was after adding a bunch of brass weight to the axles.

Yeah, that's what I would be thinking too, but I'm swapping out the shocks, front axle for an IFS, and rear axle casing.
I guess I'll just pick one up now, before it runs out of stock for 2 weeks like everything else.

As for the 10.3, its a nice rig and all, but for around that pricepoint, I think the TRX4s still better. Pure rock crawling performance wise, its more or less of an opinion thing, but TRX4's definitely a better trailer or jack of all trades kind of car.

I get that, and I'm not trying to argue "jargon". What I was implying was the ability to have a more stripped down, light weight rig with an emphasis on performance versus scale doodads.

I was going to get the 10ii builder for my next project but snagged the Trailwalker rtr for $50 more. I think they are comparable in the performance department and $50 for a body, Reedy power (not a bad setup for an rtr), a backup transmitter etc...not a bad deal at all. Kinda wish I could have built it but I will be partially disassembling for diagnosis/quality check/lubing/loctite anyways, no plans to run it out of the box. Current plans are little tire/stock body and big tire/custom body and I will go with whichever is more fun.
