Default Disconnect TINY battery connectors, need tips

Hi guys. Santa brought me a new SXC24 today. This battery connector is S M A L L! !

I got it out using the edge of a pocket knife, but that's a risky proposition given that the wires are also tiny...

Any tips on easy removal?

After a couple times they are easier to remove. You could also shave the "keepers" (tiny nubs on back by the alignment strip) off with a razor blade. Unless youre air mailing your 24 the plug will stay no problem lol. You could give it a couple crawling outings first though. lol

What kind of connector is it?
Identifying it might be difficult since there are so many and they’re often misidentified.

I’ve seen several 3D printed designs for removal tools--check out Thingiverse.

Otherwise, some fine needlenose jewelers pliers, non-serrated smooth jaws (so you don’t destroy the connector):

I've used Deans micro connectors in the past for things like receiver packs and what not. They're small but really easy to get your fingers on and pull apart.

I converted to JST connectors on the batteries and made a little adapter out of the original PH 2.0 connector. This gives me something to grab onto.

Congrats on your SCX24! The micro rigs are super fun. If you haven’t already found it, there’s a micro rig specific sub forum here if you go to Scale Rigs General Tech. Lots of great info there.

Pretty sure these SCX24 battery and motor connectors are JST-PH 2.0.

I have an SCX24 as well and noticed the battery and motor connectors were a little stiff at first, but they do loosen up after repeated ins/outs. Mine don’t give me trouble.

If it continues to give you trouble, Joshs4x4toyz ‘s suggestion of shaving the little keeper nubs down or off with a razor blade seems like a great tip.

Space is limited in these little rigs so I think using the stock connector without adding any adapters is kind of the way to go.
