Default M2 socket screws

Hey guys, can someone help me here. My element trailwalker uses 2mm screws , I’m assuming M2 , and it took me for a loop. I ordered a couple sets of M2 assuming they’d fit the 2mm driver I have that I use to wrench on the rig.

The M2s use a 1.5mm driver, the 2mm driver is too big BUT the M2.5 screws in the set (included m2,2.5 and 3mm) fit my 2.5mm driver.

1. What am I missing? 2. Can anyone direct me to where I can get true 2mm socket screws so I can quit being dumb? Thanks!

M2 screws are 2mm in diameter on the threaded part. That doesn't correlate with the driver size you use on it.

Your 2mm driver will generally be used on M3 screws (or M2.5 cap head screws).

Thanks Dred that makes sense given this photo. I’ll try M2.5. I’ve taken apart the transmission the axles, etc. but never focused on why the hell….
