Default Old LiPo Battery Charger Question

Hey All!

I have a ElectriFly Triton EQ AC DC Charger. See link: https://www.towerhobbies.com/product.../GPMM3155.html

New Batteries I just purchased are: Gens Ace 3s LiHV LiPo Battery 60C w/XT-60 Connector (11.4V/3600mAh). See link:
https://www.amainhobbies.com/gens-ac...s60x6/p1336182

On the display when I select the battery type and mAh (in this case, 3600). I can then set the voltage on the charger. The battery is 11.4v but the closest the charger can get to is 11.1v. Should I be concerned with this?

Yes, I am a noob with this stuff, building my first RC car here soon!

Thanks,

Slows

So charging a LIHV lipo as a regular lipo is totally fine, nothing wrong with that. You just lose out on a little bit of the capacity (run time). You could even argue that its better for the battery longevety not using the full capacity.

I did this for a while before I got a newer charger that worked for LIHV lipos.

Do you recommend a charger for the battery I have? I’m not opposed to getting a new charger.

Maybe this: https://www.amainhobbies.com/protek-...k-8523/p696354

Probably a great charger but at $110 you can do better price-wise.

I absolutely LOVE my SKYRC iMAX B6AC v2. Does everything you'll prob ever need and only $51. Super easy to use too. Link below

I've had good luck with the HiTec chargers (RDX1 and X2). I dont have much experience with other chargers, its not like tires or crawlers where I want 1 of each lol so I dont really have a frame of reference.

If you want to charge multiple batteries at once a dual charger is nice. I also like to have one that can run off of DC for camping trips, most have that option though. Going for a newer charger is a good idea too, as new battery chemistries come out they get support on chargers where older chargers support fewer battery types.
