I have had a couple flysky bs6 receivers fail due to water/corrosion. So if you run in the wet/mud like i do in the winter, its worth coating them, or really sealing up receiver box

| Re: New radio suggestions I’m pretty sure that shortly after the 7 came out I was looking into it, and the reviews were not very positive. I know they upgraded the wheel to foam but I don’t think that’s what the bad reviews were about. Being new and right in the ballpark as the GT5 as far as price goes it peaked my interest.

GT5 is nice digital radio. Long Range, alot settings. Great if you got bashers also, then you can use gyro and more things Other than that Dumbo 6ch is the most basic, and very cheap, gyro also, cheap extra receivers, very long range. These both are great if you have RC Boat also like i do. I need the long range in my boat I have both, the Dumbo 6ch is to my most simple rigs, these i let my friends drive also. And you need two radios if you let your friends drive same time you do Google silicone formal coating, i do this with all my receivers, 2 layers. These are mostly splash proof. I like drive in deep water and snow also. With formal coating also waterproof servos and receivers+ ESC you are 100% safe. I do it even if they say they are waterproof. Easy done, and i feel safe then.¨ A must do in RC Boats also Also if you drive in mud or right after heavy rain. Last edited by Jjay; 05-20-2023 at 02:59 PM. |

Finally got to try out the new GT5, and I want to thank everyone who gave input here. I will be waterproofing the receiver as suggested, but today was just climbing around dry wood piles. The radio is a significant improvement in controllability! Having properly set end point is great, and setting up EXP for throttle and even steering, is great as well! Now, with this and the 1080, it can really crawl, not just climb. I set up channel 4 for a variable drag brake, and that works nicely as well. And, the best part, it fits perfectly on my case. All in all, I’m pretty happy with the performance of the rig. Now I’m more interested in finishing a (class 1?) body kit for it. It’s a great place to be….but I’m sure the desire to get more brass will return |

| Re: New radio suggestions Assuming you have the 1080 G2(?). I did the same thing with my 1080 G2 and my GT5 in my Gmade Buffalo. 2nd gear in that truck is way faster than my TRX4 was when it had the 2 speed trans. Wanted the 100% drag brake when in low gear, but NEEDED to back it off when in high gear or it would somersault when I let off the throttle. Works great. Now I can easily crawl and trail with that truck |
