Default Dual motors, dual esc???

Hi there in the US,

Through the Nomadio website i was introduced into crawling.
I've read alot lately and i like the tubers very much.
Currently rebuilding my Revo with 4WS.
I'm sure i'm gonna try something this winter.
Probably gonna use parts of the Revo, i like re-using parts
The nitro engine has gotto go sadly.

Main question is;

If you use the Raptor axles, every axle has its own engine.
Do you have to use 2 esc's or is it possible to do it with one esc?
Bare in mind that i like to set them up differently, like a mix say 60/40 F-R and make changes from my transmitter.

for this forum.
I like it very much.

Regards,
Smartdriver

If you want to mix the different motors to do different things, you need 2 ESCs. If you want both motors to do exactly the same thing at the same time, you can get by with 1 ESC.

YOu only need 2 ESCs if it's brushless motors.

Or if you want to make both motors do different things...For example, I use 55t motors on my Clod, with both motors being controlled by their own ESC, and this lets me do front and rear digs, as well as having the two motors rolling at different speeds.

Yep, this is what i mean!

So, 2 motors equals 2 esc's, if you use Clodlike drivetrains with my specific needs.

Thanks

then if i may continue, there are much combo's (motors & esc's) and i guess whe're talking brushless all the way.
Can you give me some pointers!?
Wich combo's are much used?
I'll be using Lipo's 2s.

You're going to get told this sooner than later, but use the search function. Very helpful.

Having said that, Castle Creations Mamba Max is a very popular brushless esc used in crawlers. I bought my system (not for a crawler, but still a MM), from Bishop Power Products, which I think still has the lowest prices on the web.

Personally, for my own crawler build, I'm going with brushed motors (despite using brushless for my other r/c's). There are several reasons for this, again reading up on it is the best way to make your choice.

Read much comments from other forumusers, not that polite as you though, but this is:

Newbie General
Ask newbie crawler questions here, without fear of being flamed!

But i get the message

Thanks for the advice.
I'll use the "search" as much as possible in the future

True, no flaming in this forum for asking stupid questions (I've got lots of them myself!), but if you read the second sticky on the main page (Read Me First Or Die A Painful Death) you'll notice it says to use the search function first, even with this being the newbie forum. The stickies in each forum really do have a lot of information (lots of links, pictures, etc.) and you'll probably find that they answer a lot of your questions and keep you from being harassed by people like me :-P!
