Regarding the subject of Lithium batteries, what do 2/3A, 4/5A, etc. stand for and mean? I have been trying to find this out for some time now without any success. I've checked the 'frequently asked questions' area in other sites like CheapBatteryPacks.com and I can find answers to most all lipo questions but this one. Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Ahhh, so the numbers indicate a fraction of a whole A size cell. So then, are these cells also square shaped or rectangular shaped like the A size batteries are? Also, what type of cells are the 2/3A, 4/5A? Nicad, nimh, lithium....? Last edited by BeeRC; 09-05-2007 at 08:34 PM. |

| NiCd (Nickel and Cadminium), NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride), and LiPo (Lithium Polymer) are just the chemical elements and compounds inside a cell. In theory, they could be inside a cell of any size, but the most common chemicals in cells are NiMHs, so that's what they usually are.

I haven't seen it yet so I'm going to throw it out there. AxLE, not axel, transfers power to the wheels from the transmission, usually with further gear reduction via a ring and pinion gear set. |

The holy grail of remote control acronyms...... http://radiocontrol.wikia.com/wiki/Terms_and_acronyms Anything not on here is usually found with a quick Google search. Beware though, I think some people make up acronyms as they type. I'm not a fan abbreviating stuff, see my signature for details....... |

I often see the 'elders' here referred to as the OG's. Is this 'Original Generation' or what?

| How about laying of the "do a search" posts. This is the newbie forum. People should be free to post any question they have with out some uber poster replying that they should use the search function.

Actually - FET stands for Field Effect Transistor and is a component used in ESCs (electronic speed control)s. Wow - those basic electronics classes way back in the day finally paid off! ---- I know what a DIG is, or what it does, etc - but I'm curious - why is it called a DIG? Is that an acronym for something? Digitally Interactive Gear ? - boy, that's a shot in the dark... LOL Last edited by rctoyguy; 04-29-2008 at 12:02 AM. |
