Default Don's R/C Slash Conversion...proto

Well, tired of the weakness of the stock Slash, when mated to a nice brushless power system, I figured it was time for some updates. In addition, I added in some adjustability to the suspension and battery location to make it much more tunable.

Here's a few early pics of the mockup. RPM plastic parts and Lunsford ti pins/turnbuckles coming to the final along with some more machined goodies courtesy of DNA Production version will have CF and Delrin parts to cut weight...this proto is for proof of concept and interest.

Looks good.... Not sure I'd want the extra weight of the aluminum, though...

I've been eyeballing the new Thundertech chassis, but may wait until this one comes out.... if it doesn't take forever

Looks GREAT! I actually want a bit more weight in my slash.... helps it bite the track a bit better, slows everything down a little so I can anticipate things a bit better... which I'll take over a higher top speed.

thats badass!! another thing we need for the brushless slashes is some beadlock wheels with the backspacing needed to run some narrowed 2.2 tires

What's even better is this will allow you to run a gambit of different shocks. I'm currently beating on mine with 1/8th scale buggy shocks. That with a CC 5700 system and some 2.2 race tires makes for one heck of a ride.

Nice work, you should look into producing a chassis brace for the SC10.

man that thing is sweeeet! i just built a chassis for my slash just like that(mine dont look that good tho) used 1/8" 7075 aluminum and a cutting board for the veticals it only ways about 6 ounces more then stock chassis, but with a brushless thats a big help. and it handles 10 times better. Anyway, what kind of aluminum did you use, and whats the final weight without electronics? good job, cant wait to see the cf version!
