Yeah that is the one. There was a bunch of us last year messing around with them. There is actually a really good thread, I think in chit chat started by Toyofast last spring that has most of the really good information we could find across the net. Here it is: Jet boats anyone? I also started one in the Colorado section.. Here is the one I started: Jet Boat series/get togethers. Hope this helps. |

The drive that comes with this boat will work quite well and the motor that you need to run it with should 3000kv or less to run on 3s. 3500kv or higher should only run on 2s battery. Motor size should be a 380 size motor or 28mm can works best. Also the impeller shaft is 2.3mm and the coupler is 2.3mm on both sides. If you use a motor with a larger shaft you'll have to get a different coupler as well.

Or drill it out, I ran the traxxas 1/16th scale system in mine and it worked well, though I considered it a little light to keep the boat primed (unless weight was added). I ran the traxxas 540 system in it and it worked extremely well, granted I was running it on a graupner drive, but they look almost identical. I did end up getting a different coupler, I was blowing the stock ones up every time I took it out so I went to a steel one. Word of advice though from someone who experienced it. Do not run the boat if its not in water. My receiver got wet one day and pinned the throttle full I pulled it out of the water to unplug the battery and in the matter of a minute or so the the drive melted down anything that was plastic from the heat generated from the shaft spinning so fast. Other then that have fun. Im trying to rebuild the three I have right now for some fun spring time run off. |
