| Stampede 4X4 VXL
Anyone else have one? I recently pick one up. I have always felt the Stampede was one of the best all around play / basher / fun trucks ever built. Well, I now consider the 2wd version as second best. This thing is just plain FUN. I plan on keeping it stock. The only mod will be to lower the body a bit. I am running it on 2S, 20c 5000mah packs and the truck really moves out. Wheelies on demand! |

I really think Traxxas makes great rtr bash worthy products. Just add RPM front A arms and your good to go.

Johnny, RPM makes good items, but I have never had issue with the Traxxas parts. I did use the RPM gear covers on the 2wd units. This is all that is planned for now |

I got 1. Replaced the front and rear drive shafts with MIPS, as I broke both back shafts at the stub shafts and one front at the stub shaft. Bought some extra stockers to put in it, but on 3S the stock shafts just can't take it (unless your always on dirt - mine broke on the street)

I've got one, its a lot of fun. I have been looking for a forum for this truck, other than the Traxxas Forums, are there any specifically for this truck? Right now, the one thing I want to change is height of the body, who's lowered their body and what did you do it with? |

good job on the video&info, good idea, i dont have a 4x4 pede, but i know what your saying about the body looking stupid high, but its a monster truck. not a low rider. i notice people on here are always bashing the bodies being too high on trail trucks &rock crawlers. their entitled to opinions, but even in the real world you dont see low rider monster trucks or low riding mud boggers ,low, low, low, their trucks. if people wants low riders they should stay with a rustler or 4x4 slash. |

I lowered my body exactly as shown in the above video. Put the body at at just the right height. Any lower and it would look to low. All you need to do it is a screw driver. | |

For the most part I agree with you, but on the 4X4 Pede the body does sit excessively high. Enough so that it is actually slightly above the sides of the chassis. By doing the mod shown in the video, you lower it just enough to provide cover to the chassis with out dropping it so far that it looks like a low rider. Dropped the body, aluminum shock caps, & removed the wheelie bar. I run mine on 2S and it stays together well and seems pretty solid. I throw it in the trunk of the car and try to bash it everywhere I can. |

My neighbor guy has a VXL 4x4 Slash that he's wanting to swap over stampede suspension to. He's running his on a 3s lipo and it's nuts. You can't get anywhere near full throttle with it on pavement. He's been having issues with the hub bearing exploding and eating up the hubs. RPM arms are a must have if you bash.

A cheap option for the posts is Traxxas Part #: 3727 (X2), this is battery mounting hardware for a rustler, ~ 6 bucks...

I am finding the 4x4 Pede, running on 2S, to be a very fun and durable machine. I enjoy running my RCs at less than insane speeds so 3S is out for me. Gave it, and the Mini E-Revo (MERV) a good run today. They both take a beating and just keep on going. For batteries, I use 5000mah packs in the Pede and 1750mah in the MERV. All packs are from Hobby King. They have some ver nice hard case 5000mah packs for very good prices. I have the 20C pack, more than enough punch for bashing, and got them for $19.95 a pack. |

| Thats what I ordered with my Pede4 new. Lowered the body before I ever installed the lipo. Put's the body down perfectly in line with the bumpers.

| Honestly, I have never timed it, but it runs for a good long time. far longer than my old 2WD / Titan 550 motored Pede on a 3500 nimh pack and I have not run it to the point that the low voltage cutoff kicks in. This is the pack I am using. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14976 |

I run a 2S 30C 4800mah hard case from Value Hobby. I'm getting right around 30 minutes or maybe just a few minutes longer. The pack runs approx. $33.
