Default Cow's Pavement Terror, thinking of getting her back on the streets!

Hello my friends,

Many of you know I am still in a serious set of crawling diapers... I am talking leak proof I am such a nube I dont think I have posted a thread here on this rig and after a very busy year with my day job and cow (Thank You all!) this project has sat on the stove for almost a year and a half! I am feeling the itch and placed a small needed parts order to get back to wrenching so I thought I would share some history

Thanks for looking and please share your thoughts/comments.

Heath

This is a little more speed... Easy 80+ MPH (Geared for well over 80), Super stable at speed and sliding pavement corners, and a all around blast to drive once you have gotten used to respecting the throttle...Not a cheap lesson to learn. HEHE

She started out as Factory Team RC8E running a Mamba Monster Combo, 6S1P 4000 MAH Lipo, and HPI Blast wheel and Phaltline tire combo (with custom belting).

Few throw back pics... with a rush paint job

After some time at the wheel and alot of hardcore tarmac destruction I decided to make a big parts order to address all the week spots (At these speeds everything becomes a week spot!) I Ordered some much needed upgrades and figured a plan of attack to address some big power Transfer issues.

Fioroni Hard Coated Ultra Light Chassis

And a ton of King Heads upgrades...

Front Chassis Brace

Rear Chassis Brace

Arm Mount A Plate

Arm Mount C Plate

Center Diff Top Plate

Rear Toe-In Plate

Arm Mount B Plate

Upper Top Plate and lower plate (lower not pictured)

Upgrades installed "Lid Off", Power Transfer issues solved, and a box of smiles at this piont Still needing to watch the heat issues though in fair weather of 75 or above...

Then I was feeling a little Truggy like so time for a change! Painted by NeoNot

Still having alot of heat issues I decided it was time for some four corner weight reduction (So hard for me to give up the huge wheel look but some things must be) by moving to a signifigantly lighter GT2 foam or rally style wheel, Nylon spur and Re-gear, and decided while she is broken down I might as well get a little custom with the anodizing! Anodizing by 1offrc!

Top side of chassis is solid black

Soon to be motor upgrade... NEU POWER BABY!

So this is where I left here about 1.5 years ago I recently had RockThrasher Paint and Graphics paint up some new lids to MOO-tivate me

I am hoping to spend the day wrenching and rebuilding Monday so I placed (I hope my last) parts order today in antacipation of the cooler weather and getting her dialed in during some up coming free time!

Picked me up some RPM front and rear black arms and some good looking Sweep GT Pre-Belted! Radials... Supposed to be very light weight, if anyone has experience with these lets here it!

Wow that looks like way too much fun! I can't imagine 80+mph. 50mph is so fast in a R/C!

I'm in for some vids of this beast!

It takes a little getting used too and a commitment to fixing destruction often but I love R/C ground rockets that can handle

Got quite a bit of wrenching done yesterday... Still alot to go though. It is amazing how dirty things get simply sitting around for a year and a half! Found some more issues I seam to have forgotten about so I place another small parts order to fix a snapped front cva, bent front center cva, some fresh shock and diff oils, and some ofna foams just in case the sweeps do not work out

1 x TRA5137 Traxxas Oil, differential (50K weight)
1 x TRA5136 Traxxas Oil, differential (30K weight)
1 x TRA5135 Traxxas Oil, differential (10K weight)
2 x ASC5436 Team Associated Silicone Shock Oil (60wt)
2 x OFN82033 OFNA Foam Tire Blue Dot 17mm
1 x ASC89116 Team Associated Differential Gasket
1 x ASC89103 Team Associated Center CVA Bone
1 x CSECCBLOWER Castle Creations "CC Blower" Fan Shroud
1 x ASC89018 Team Associated Gear Box Gasket
1 x ASC89102 Team Associated Front/Rear CVA Bone

Looks like another week to wait on parts and hope to be getting this alot closer to complete next week

I like parts... Even got a few hours work inn!

Rebuilt shocks, changed dampners, and (60wt) with a new set of wears

Replaced the snapped front left shaft, bent front center shaft, and chipped front diff pinion. Found a blown-out bearing inside the case to, UGH more parts to order

Front clip assembled waiting for bearings... Might be time for ceramics

Started figuring out the new gearing....

Here is where I am going to to start out, keep her a little subdued untill I feel comfortable behind the throttle again

Once I am comfy though... watch out! I am going somewhere

While waiting for laundry I got the front clip installed, Broke down the center diff (50k), and found a few more odds and ends I need to order. Decided to keep the castle motor in for now, better for training

Looks like this is it for a week or so... thanks for looking at the mess

Heath

SHE LIVES!!!

Well... Just back from a 10 minute test run 12T/46T just to see how things feel. Geared for around 50 (FELT LIKE A PIG!! ) but otherwise feeling nice and smooth. Moving up to a 16T next battery and will see how she handles a little more power. Should be 60+ and a little more fun for

Have to say I am quite suprised by the Sweeps... These tire/wheel combos feel really good! Curious to see if they continue to feel this good as the RPM's grow...

Some quik pics fresh off the streets... Poser pics to come when she has the wiring cleaned up and good wipe down

Heath

Depending on your RC parts source it should not be an issue... Many LHS caru the parts and online it is simple to find what you need of course

I will admit I am a bit of a Team Associated fan boy but they have always represented solid, state of the art, hobby grade RC to me since I was a kid with my first gold pan

If 1/8th scale is in budget and you love high performance RC's wiith lots of upgrade options you wont regret it!
