Default 1/6 Herbie RC Car

Theres this thing I like to call, "hobbyfying". Basically taking a toy grade rc car and putting hobby grade electronics in it. Sometimes wheels and tires. But if you're lucky, you might have one that has suspension - thats always fun to improve. Now where was I? Oh yeah! I have this 1/6 scale Herbie made by Planet Toys for the movie, "Herbie Fully Loaded". It has a two stick controller. Yeah right! More like a 6 stick! Why so many? I'll tell you why. It has sticks for forward/back and left/right and 4 more for a hydraulic system. It couldn't jump like a full lowrider but it was pretty cool. The car had a full interior and a removable soft top. But wait there's more! A full sound system. Because of all this weight it didnt go very fast with the rechargeable 9.6v nimh 1600mah included battery. Now here's what I wanna do with it.

Plans:
Make it an on/off road car
Traxxas XL5 esc
Axial 20 turn brushed motor
Hobby grade servo
Traxxas TQ

Later on...
Castle XL2 brushless system
Spektrum DX3C
High-end servo

I hope this will be a fun project. Post comments or questions below.

The XL2 will have to wait because it is too expessive right now. The hydraulics and sound won't be functional. :( I've removed the ginormous skid plates and the circuit board and all of the electronics. The hydraulic units will have to stay in because they connect to the shocks. I'm not gonna sell it because.....well I don't want to.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. But I will be using a 3 channel rx at the most. So I'll have to have 2 positions. Maybe one for on road and one for off road.

I have an xl5 esc and a 2075 servo with a cheap 2.4ghz radio. I just need to find out how to mount them. Especially the servo. Can anyone help?

On something like this the servo can be mounted using double sided tape or use any servo mounts you find using some ingenuity. Cool body, where did you get it?

Well for a standard sized servo, I attached it to the servo arm and it kind of floated above the chassis. So I would have to make a custom mount for it. As for the body, it is the stock body. I'll keep that body, but a large scale rally body would be cool, as the suspension is really bouncy. So it would look like an old bouncy rally car.
